In Memory of Ramsey

Dec. 25, 2023

On this day, the world holds its breath,
as the calendar turns and time marches on.
But I stand still,
held in the quiet pull of your absence,
the space where your laughter once echoed,
the room where your smile warmed the walls.

How can they ask me to forget?
How can I erase the light you brought
to every corner of this house,
to the moments we shared?

You are the whisper in the breeze,
the stillness in the morning,
the heart that beats softly inside me,
reminding me—
you are never far,
never gone.

Some say the years heal,
but what is healing when the heart knows
only the ache of love?
You are woven into the fabric of my soul,
and time cannot unthread what was sewn so deep.

I carry you in my thoughts,
in the quiet of the night,
in the moments that come between the seconds—
you live there,
a presence that needs no words,
a memory that fills every space.

Your name is a desire,
whispered when the weight of the world
feels too heavy to bear.
And though the house may be silent,
I hear you still,
in the hum of my heart,
in the love that will never fade.

Ramsey,
you are not forgotten—
you are held,
alive in me,
forever.
